With the approval of construction of the Angra 3 nuclear power plant, I come through this, express my disgust with it. Using nuclear technology to generate electricity is an economic error that can and should be avoided, and any viable alternatives that are cheaper and faster to meet national demand for electricity, renewable sources such as wind and solar energy.

The resources needed for the conclusion of Angra 3 (R$ 7.4 billion) could generate a doubling of energy, in one third of the time if they were invested in wind energy, for example. You can see that nuclear power is extremely expensive and Angra 3 would generate only 1353 one thousand megawatts (MW), only in 2013, while each of the hydroelectric potential has more than 3 thousand MW, without mentioning that this idea is rejected by more than 80% of the brazilian population.

Apart from security problems and irregularities in the sector, as Angra 1 and Angra 2, which even have deposits for their waste, which remain radioactive for hundreds of years. Another danger is the risk of nuclear accidents, if it was really safe does not need so much security, since no one else invests in nuclear technology anymore. Germany, a country in which 'sold' Angra 3, has ceased investment in this area and has already led to the closure of all nuclear power plants by 2020. This happened in Europe as a whole, except for France. Moreover, what really would be a focused investment for the future are renewable energy sources, especially solar, wind and biomass.

With this lettler, I demand that the federal government does not build Angra 3, opting for clean energy and secure for our country.
