Pick-upau and SBT crew recorded flesh about the “Trails of Sao Paulo”

Pick-upau team and the newscast of SBT Brazil journal recorded flesh about the “Trails of Sao Paulo – Know to Keep” from Environmental State Department. Launched in the last 28 days, the show encourages the practice of trekking in State Units of Conservation. With a total of 200 km divided in 40 tracks, the projects aims to increase the visitation in the parks managed by State Department.

Employee of Pick-pau goes trhough the “Trail of Life” in the Parque Ecologico do Guarapiranga.

The parks where the recording happened were the Intervales, Jacupiranga, Cantareira, Campos do Jordão, Morro do Diabo, Jaraguá, Campina do Encantado, Porto Ferreira, Ilhabela, Ilha Anchieta, Ilha do Cardoso and the Ecologico do Guarapiranga.

“With a deep look, we`ll see that we launched a program which is not so revolutionary, what shows that we were behind on the ecotourism” say the Secretary of Environment Xico Graziano. “We did a big step, but it need be followed with other steps”, added.

To implement the project the Forest Foundation, a State Departament (SMA) has created the “Trails of Sao Paulo Passport” a publication in form of passport with 40 tracks classified in low, medium and high level. In each trail there is a spot to put a stamp certifying that the tourist made the whole track. Who complete the schedule can win prizes from State Department as digital cameras, squeeze, bags and t-shirts with the phrase “I made it”.

According with Pedro Isal, from Pick-upau, the initiative is simple and brings practical results. “Bringing people in those Conservation Units is necessary to maintaining this heritage, we hope that the project will be continued and other states implement it. Brazil still has a lot to advance in ecotourism and sustainable development, because it is what moves the local economy”.
